4K Xiaomi Laser Projector Repair

Specialist diagnostics and repair for the Xiaomi Laser Projector 150", 4K Cinema, and Cinema 2. We address motherboard failures, DMD chip replacement, and cooling system overhauls.

Unlike general repair shops, we understand the ALPD 3.0/4.0 laser engine architecture and the specific power sequencing logic used by Xiaomi.

Serving the UK, Ireland & EU.

Troubleshooting & Error Codes

Before booking, check if your issue corresponds to these common fault codes.

Symptom / Message Likely Cause Action Required
"System Temperature Too High" Blocked vents, dried thermal paste, or failed fan. Do not restart immediately. Requires thermal service.
Fan Error / Loud Noise Bearing failure or tachometer sensor fault. Fan replacement required.
White/Black Dots on Screen DMD Chip Failure (Micromirrors stuck). DMD Chip Replacement (See below).
Vertical Lines / Colour Bars Mainboard GPU or Optical Ribbon Cable fault. Component level motherboard repair.
No Power / Dead Power Supply Unit (PSU) or Mainboard Short. Voltage rail diagnostics required.

The DMD chip is the "retina" of your projector. Replacing it requires deep optical block disassembly.

DMD Chip Failure (White Dots)

If your screen looks like a starry night sky with stuck white or black pixels, your Digital Micromirror Device (DMD) has failed. This is common in units that have run hot for extended periods.

Our Solution: We strip the optical block, replace the DMD chip with a genuine part, replace the thermal pad interface, and realign the optics to ensure sharpness across the entire image.

  • Eliminates dead pixels.
  • Restores native 4K/1080p resolution sharpness.
  • Includes thermal upgrade to prevent recurrence.

Vertical Lines & Display Artifacts

Vertical bands, coloured stripes, or a split-screen effect often indicate a failure in the signal path between the mainboard and the optical engine. This can be caused by heat stress on ribbon cables or a BGA (Ball Grid Array) fracture on the graphics processor.

Our Solution: We test the LVDS/ribbon cables for continuity. If the cables are healthy, we perform board-level reflow or reballing of the main processor to restore connection integrity.

Vertical lines are rarely a "settings" issue; they indicate hardware signal failure.

Loose or damaged HDMI ports prevent the 'handshake' required for 4K HDR content.

HDMI Port & Connectivity Repair

"No Signal" messages often stem from physically damaged HDMI ports. Constant plugging and unplugging can break the solder joints connecting the port to the mainboard.

Our Solution: We do not just reflow the old solder. We remove the damaged port, clean the pads, and solder a new, reinforced HDMI port to the mainboard to ensure a stable 4K 60Hz HDR connection.

  • Fixes "No Signal" / Intermittent dropouts.
  • Restores ARC/eARC functionality.
  • Reinforced soldering for durability.
